There have been so many artists who have inspired my work over the years and who continue to do so, but right now, those who recurringly dwell in my mind are these below. For me, the main ingredients of the examples I've shown are collage, composition, typeface, assemblage, narrative. Although my work is in no way similar to the work of these artists, they have inspired me with their essential concepts. Clara Vichi. Brooch. Trained at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art. Well known for her beautiful graphic compositions in silver, brass and wood.
Robert Ebendorf. "InService" Brooch. American jewellery famed for his clever assemblages.
Jack Cunningham. "Fragments" Brooch from a series. A teacher, academic and contemporary studio jeweller.
Roy Ray. "May 5" mixed media artwork. Cornish-based artist
Sir Peter Blake. "The Toy Shop" mixed-media artwork. First known for his 'Pop Art' works and collage assemblages.
Ramon Puig Cuyas of Spain. Brooch from the Archipelagos series.
